are not applicable to the

cases of children/dealt with

under Section 17 of Ordinance

No.1 of 1932 (and they are

certainly not desirable words

to apply to such cases), and

that the use of these words

would exclude the application

to such cases of most of the

Ordinance. I observe, how-

ever, that the word "detained"

is used in both Sections 8 (3)

and 31 (1) which, as already

suggested, appear to be

intended to apply to such

cases.

I shall be glad if you

will consider in the light of

the above observations whether

it would not be desirable to

amend the Ordinance by

introducing two separate terms
